A sneak peek

I posted my first attempts at baby announcements the other day, granted at my first attempt not bad I thought! Then I got back in there and played more and came up with a much nicer, higher quality, more creative, ....well on and on. At least I only had up to go from my first attempt!!! And it was a noble attempt....but oh so lacking in charm and capturing attention! But not now.....
Because the family is using it to send out for their real announcements, I do not want to spoil their fun by showing it off before they send it out, so I am giving you a sneak peek at it, sorry to put that hook out there and completely leave you hanging....but I will post the full version after it is sent out to their friends!!! I designed the front, inside as well as the back, it is a 5x5 folded card. ..and here is the back, that is all you get ....FOR NOW!!! Come back!!!!

This is my new logo, that I designed myself...thank you very much!!!!!

When I began photographybyASHLEY, I was pretty much technically illiterate..computers, photoshop, everything. So I made a trade with a friend in graphic design, she designed all of my advertising in exchange for photography. She did a great job attempting to capture me....but there is nothing like coming up with it on you own and knowing that is exactly you! I may use this logo completely like this, but I also have a few alternatives with different fonts! My trademark is AC (initials). When I was a kid I used to sign my initials on everything...
I was ACA so I would interlock all three with the C bringing the cross through both A's. .When I started photographybyASHLEY I wanted something to stand out, something that was mine and I could really market. I began with the AC on everything, I even sign all my prints with it. So I was really excited to play last night and get this new look which captures not only my symbol, but in my very own style!!!! At least for now...I am sure I will want to change it to something more amazing in a few months....

Family

A poem I found about family! I thought it was a beautiful sentiment and perfect for this sweet family!
This is what it says.....

"No one is ever born into Life alone. Everyone has shared the bond of family, at least at birth, and for many people it is a bond that will follow them throughout life. For many people it is the most important bond of all."

Baby announcement.....

No not me....HAHAHA, you never know though! Except it wouldn't be a girl.....

I was having fun with photoshop and my hopefully creative and artistic mind....what do you think??? The possibilities are seemingly endless for font style, color....I almost wish I could have all of my options spread out on the floor and interchange it at my will.

Girl time!

For those who do not know me personally let me explain how precious girl time is...I have four sons!!!! So altogether I live with 5 bodies overflowing with testoterone. Although they are still young they never change, full of noises, tooting gets uproarious laughter, falling is comedic around our house, cars are covering my entire floor, why do my clothes need to match??? and anything and everything is turned into a weapon!
I had a fun session today to capture a newborn, she is 2 weeks old and has a big sister not quite 2. They are such sweet little girls! I did not spend the average 4 hrs (recommended) at the session so although we captured some special moments I was not able to get a great picture of the girls together....Big sis wanted to poke little sis's eyes, which made Mommy slightly nervous, wonder why?? Newborns are not all that easy...they just lay there which is both the pro and the con. They can't run away but at the same time what to do with them becomes a challenge! So I am excited I had a chance to practice on this sweet baby and her Mommy was super flexible and understanding!!!

LET ME EXPLAIN....

So you do not think I have entirely quit the photography business, I am still a photographer and if my schedule allows I will be available. But it will not be at the will of my clients for this season. I will not make any attempts to advertise right now or open doros to schedule, but I hope and pray for clientts to continue to contact me!

A surrender in my life!

Well folks, sometimes unexpected events come up in our lives and we can only TRUST in the One who has the world in His hand. I really love photography but the Lord has asked me to give it to Him for a season, I do not know how long or in what capacity but for now I will no longer have a website!

I will still take pictures, and schedule minimal sessions, as the Lord leads and I would love to hear from you all. I can only say I will be at His knees surrending all that I am and all that I have waiting for Him to lead me in this area. I cannot guarantee a session but as the Lord leads I will continue to follow His bidding. So if HE should open the door for me to schedule the session I will obey!

A new story....
