Welcome to photographybyASHLEY

I hope you all feel as welcome here as you would on a front porch, in Boerne Texas, sippin' on a glass of ice cold sweet tea. Yep that's right, I am a Texas country girl!

This blog will be a place you can come to get to know me as a photographer as well as a person. Updates on my latest sessions as well as a sneak peek into my home.

Please visit often and feel free to send me a note. I would love to hear from you.

Lara and Ben are getting married!

What an honor it was to spend the day yesterday with this amazing couple. They both attended A&M so we drove together to College station for our session. They had several locations around campus and in town they wanted to use so we bonded after being together that long. We left Houston around 3:00pm and arrived back in Houston about 10:30pm.
I immediately fell in love with both of them, not only were they easy to get to know they were a lot of fun to be around! If every couple was this fun every session would be easy!
We also had their child with us...a 6 (??) week old chocolate labrador named Shiner....I was a little nervous when they said they wanted to get their puppy in some shots....all I could think of was how this puppy was going to run everywhere and not listen and we were going to have lots of puppy booty shots. But this was the BEST puppy I have ever seen in my life. He was so tiny but he followed us everwhere. He was great! I am so glad they brought him along we had a lot of fun with him...I really wanted to steal him my boys would go absolutely nuts.....but the husband would also go absolutely nuts....and kill me..just kidding, but dare I say, he is not a dog man.
Anyway, I only have a few pictures posted, and I am saving my very favorites until last.....that is how I eat also....I eat everything I hate first so I can end on the best.
Enjoy for now and know there is much more to come!!!

Sunrise...Sunset.....

So my first attempt at a sunset portait! I have been hoping for a silouhette of my children for a VERY long time....as in about a year! A photographer friend recently posted her picture of her children and that inspired me to get it done NOW. But getting a sunset picture in a big city is difficult, so I have been waiting to go "home" to the country to capture my dream shot.
Last visit to see the family, of COURSE spur of the moment, we decided to go out and get some pictures....which is always hoped for but does not usually happen. Can you say 8 kids, 8 and under...yes every photographers dream session...LOL!
But we decided to make an attempt. But we guessed at the time of sunset and were off by about 20 minutes so we almost missed it completely. I didn't get any of just my boys but I managed to capture my 4 along boys with my 2 nieces and 2 nephews!

DUN DUN DUN ....here comes the bride!

I have been waiting SOOOOOOO long to post these pictures. Remember my post earlier in the year, I posted a few images that didn't show her dress or veil? The wedding which I was very involved in....from engagement (actual proposal), bridals and EVERY shower and wedding event as personal photographer, as well as bridesmaid and husband a groomsman......do I need to mention I have been busy this year??? ....and loved every second of it!

The wedding was July 25th, in College Station at 7F Lodge, really beautiful venue! It was GORGEOUS!! The most AMAZING wedding I have ever attended, (besides my own of course...LOL actually theirs was much better, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE my husband more) of course I was pretty attached to the event. Our family has known the groom for seven years and he has been like an uncle to our 4 boys. Three years ago when he met his, now bride, I knew I would love her but I didn't imagine we would be the best of friends!

She was a sweet college student, 7 years my junior, I ... a mother to 4 boys celebrating my 10th anniversary this year....and shall we say hitting the big number this year as well....well big to me!!! LOL...little to many out there. And I am sure in just a few years it will seem ever so young!

Anyway...back to story~

Groom our kids god uncle, bride becomes one of my best friends.....I haven't waited for an event like this in a long time. I have not celebrated any wedding as I did theirs, I have never smiled so much throughout the vows and I have NEVER danced as long as I did at their wedding celebration! It was a joy to witness them unite after the 3 year wait!

After her bridal session several months ago I couldn't reveal her dress or veil which is supposed to be a surprise, so finally without further adieu......
To see the entire set......

Precious Little Princess

I took this sweet little girl's pictures as a newborn, ( I will post a few of her as a newborn and more from this session when I return from my trip) now she is celebrating her
1 Year Birthday!!!!
We had a session with her and her brother last year and we met again this week to capture them a year later. It was so much easier since she is no longer a newborn. We tried having her brother hold her and he kept falling back because he thought it was funny...remember she was a newborn....
Most of this session was for her birthday to capture her at this milestone so we had a lot of fun with her adorable outfits, which you know I was drooling over having only boys!!!
I love both of these shots, her look says it all in the second picture, but her look on the first is sweet as well! I will post more of our fun session later.

BABY announcement

What tremendous patience you all have....or maybe it's just that there aren't that many people checking out my site.....I won't dwell on that I would rather think highly of those who are followers and believe you are just really patient in waiting for me to post! So finally the baby announcements, although you already saw the back I am adding it again so you can see it all together or just in case you missed the last post.
So below are the front, middle and back, it was a 5x5 folded card, inside opened horizontally. My first attempt at designing I was really excited and I think it turned out really nice. Also, the client loved them and ordered 2 boxes!
